At 08:00 AM, we meet with our guests in front of the UluTur Tourism Office and set off towards the Sarp Border Gate. Our first stop is Rize, where we take a short break for a tea and refreshment. Then we follow the scenic Black Sea coast to the border and complete ID check and crossing procedures with our guide. After entering Georgia, we head towards downtown Batumi. En route, we see the Gonio Fortress, believed to be the place where Saint Matthias, one of Jesus’ apostles, died. We drive through eucalyptus-lined roads, cross the Chorokhi River and enter to Batumi city. On the way, we enjoy panoramic views of Batumi Airport and modern city landmarks as we follow Boulevard Road. Once in the city center, we take a break for a lunch, then begin exploring Batumi’s historical and cultural landmarks. We start with the Batumi Central Mosque, followed by Piazza Square, St. Nicholas Church, Europe Square, Memed Abashidze Statue, the Astronomical Clock, the Old National Bank, Medea and Poseidon statues, Theatre Square, Old Boulevard, the uniquely designed wedding hall, the Alphabetic Tower, the historic lighthouse and finally the symbolic Ali and Nino Statue, where we hear its touching story. After the tour, guests can enjoy free time to go shopping, joining a boat tour or taking the cable car to view Batumi from the top. At the agreed time, we regroup and begin our return journey. After completing exit procedures at the Sarp Border Gate and a short break on the road, we plan to arriving in Trabzon between 10:00 PM and midnight. We end our tour with hopes of seeing you again on another UluTur journey.
